Addaya is a sheltered fishing and sailing port on the North-East of the island. The large natural harbour inlet is surrounded by rugged farmland whilst the old tower of Torre d’Addaya dominates the entrance to the beautiful estuary where you can dive and fish. The whole area is renowned for its beauty, beaches, scuba diving and bird watching with many country walks and cycling trails clearly signposted. Over the last few years Addaya has become an attractive area of quality residential properties built around a smart marina, home to private yachts and boats. One of the best sailing schools in the Mediterranean is in Fornells, just 15 minutes from Addaya.  A scenic coastal footpath wends its way around Addaya with spectacular views out to sea and over to nearby Macaret. 

Addaya has a well stocked supermarket supplying daily fresh produce and a locally owned souvenir shop with daily newspapers. There are four restaurants in total all of a different genera.  The Castillo, British owned with a wide selection of European dishes.  The Don Carlos, Italian restaurant.  The Corner Bar, Spanish owned with a good variety of traditional and modern tapas.  La Cantina, right on the harbour side Spanish owned serving traditional Paellas and much more.  A hire car is not completely necessary but there are so many things to discover in Menorca it is recommended, even in the height of summer the roads are never overly busy and there are no motorways to contend with.  There is a summer bus service which will take you to the capital Mahon (15km) or to the nearest beach at Arenal d'en Castel (3km).  The island has one very beautiful 18 hole golf course which is only a 15 minute drive away (10km) and another larger harbour village called Fornells (14km) which has fantastic watersports and scuba schools plus a long waterfront full of shops and restaurants famed for fresh fish and lobster.
